Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by history and art as they intertwine in my life. The never ending journey of color, light, form, and execution of brushwork on canvas. Simplifying shapes and ensuring solid compositions. The sound of an old fighter aircraft crossing the sky... how to encompass all that is out there to convey on canvas? I realize that the the more work I do, the more I want to learn...
My interest in all things history began as a child growing up in Dayton, Ohio. I began copying the drawings of airplane art on model box tops and that was it - I became enthused with research books---anything and everything I could get on the subjects of WWII history, Korea, Vietnam, The Civil War and the old West.
In 1986 I moved to San Diego California where there are many areas to enjoy the scenery of the west, CA, AZ, NM, CO, etc. Also in abundance are the military/aviation areas which fly the old warbirds, which I still love to see grace the skies with that certain sound of a piston engine which is unmistakable.
I have created this website to expand on my vision of having my work reach more people, with
the hope that the viewer enjoys navigating through the art. Art is a journey and I am more than willing to participate!
